Meet the Owner

Erin McGinty Fort, MS, MHA, LPC-S, CEDS-C

Erin specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, other anxiety disorders, and perinatal mental health disorders. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and has almost 20 years of experience working with eating disorders in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings across the country. If you’re looking for someone seasoned to help you or a loved one with an eating disorder, Erin’s your gal.

By way of working with eating disorders, Erin also has extensive training and expertise treating obesssive compulsive disorder and other anxiety disorders. Not only has Erin worked at a nationally-known anxiety treatment center, she also has completed the BTTI training through the International OCD Foundation.

Since having her own daughter in 2019, Erin’s developed a soft spot for expectant or new parents trying to navigate parenthood and its ups and downs. She has completed advanced training in perinatal mood disorders, including postpartum OCD.

Prior to founding Nido Waco, Erin worked in Baylor University’s Counseling Center for over four years as the Eating Disorder Specialist. Although she is not native to Waco or Texas, she has called Waco home since 2017. She is an expert in snacks, office supplies, and dad jokes. Outside of work, she is often busy cleaning glazed donut from her hair, courtesy of her young daughter. Her most valued identities beyond being a therapist include wife, mama, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Fees for counseling and consulting services vary depending upon the nature of the service. You will have the opportunity to review these in detail prior to establishing services with Nido Waco.

Payment is due at the time services are rendered, unless otherwise agreed upon. For your convenience, Nido Waco accepts card payments, cash, and check. 

As a client of Nido Waco, your appointment times are reserved uniquely for you. Our practice is small so that you may be served dependably and consistently. Clients are usually able to secure a regular, recurring time for their counseling appointments. As such, there is a 36-hour cancellation policy for counseling services. Cancellations less than 36 hours before your appointment may result in a late fee. Further details are provided in the consent forms signed before your first appointment.

Nido Waco is currently considered an in-network provider with UnitedHealthcare (Optum) and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. You will be asked to provide your insurance policy details prior to your first appointment, so that your provider's network status can be confirmed. 

For all other insurance companies, Nido Waco is out-of-network. The services you receive will be cash pay, and you may request documentation to submit to your insurance toward out-of-network benefits, if you have them available in your plan.

All clients of Nido Waco are required to maintain an active, working payment method on file. Certain services may require a minimal deposit upon booking, which would be used toward late cancellation or no-show fees.
